Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Another year has almost come to its end. For us, it has been a rewarding but hectic year with many things on the agenda. We have had a number of inspiring visitors (Yvan, Janice, Derek, Bev, Aaron, Lixiong, Samantha, Dan, Linda, Geneviève and Qian, thanks for contributing to our environment); had our fair share of papers published; attended plenty of conferences; gotten a new professor (congrats Markus); received an honorary Doctorate degree (congrats Tim); made a number of new friends; been on research exchanges; arranged workshops and PhD courses; hired post-docs; written applications, had them declined, accepted and celebrated. And as always, we have had our weekly research seminars at 08.23 every Tuesday morning.

When we look back on 2013, we are both grateful and pleased. Pleased that our research efforts have been bearing fruit, and grateful to all our friends that have supported us and contributed to our achievements – that is YOU!

For this reason, we would like to thank you all and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We truly hope that 2013 has been as good for you, as it has been for us.
